Existing Disneyana Fan Club Members can renew their memberships for $29, a savings of $4 over the current price of $33 for new Members.  Beginning January 1, 2013, new memberships will be $33.  Memberships are good for the whole household! Announcing the “Le Groupe 2013 Calendar”

Announcing the “Le Groupe 2013 Calendar”, now available for purchase on the Internet print-on-demand website Lulu.com. This calendar commemorates the Disneyana Fan Club's trip to Disneyland Paris in April 2012 to help celebrate the resort's 20th anniversary. All photographs were taken by club members at the Disneyland Paris Resort and individual sightseeing side trips in Europe. The price is $19.92 (the year Disneyland Paris opened) plus shipping and handling. The calendar can be ordered in one of two ways:

Membership Dues Increasing to $33 Per Year on Sept. 1, 2012

NEW MEMBERS DUES GOING UP TO $33 PER YEAR STARTING SEPTEMBER 1ST, EXISTING MEMBERS DUES WILL INCREASE ON JANUARY 1ST

Starting on September 1st, 2012, new member family dues for the Disneyana Fan Club will increase to $33 per year. The Disneyana Fan Club does it's best to not increase our dues very often, but in going back to a print newsletter and with costs of printing and postage continuing to rise, it is necessary to have this increase go into effect to keep revenues and expenses in line. Current members will be able to keep paying the current rate of $29 per year until January 1st, 2013, when their dues will also go up to $33. Members who currently expire after the 1st of the year can add an another year at the current rate by renewing before January 1st.

Convention Update!

Hello, this is David Ransom, your friendly neighborhood Webmaster from Disneyana Fan Club. I would like to report that so far, our Convention is absolutely amazing! Our Guest Speakers are terrific! I can't believe how much I have been enjoying the presentations! Our Club raised over $7,000 for Ryman Arts at our "Goofy's Anniversary Party Dinner" on Thursday night. Bill Farmer thoroughly entertained us with his many impressions, including doing the last few Presidents of the U.S. All of the Guest Speakers on Friday blew me away. I was especially glued to Marty Sklar's presentation on EPCOT! I was also happy to hear and later meet Animator and Disney Legend Honoree Glen Keane! I'm still excited about what transpired on Friday, but now it is Saturday at almost 4AM, so I had better go to bed so that I can make Robert Tieman's Presentation at 9:15AM this morning. The lineup for today's presentations looks explosive, so I need to rest up in preparation!

Pixar in Concert Tickets at Hollywood Bowl Available from Disneyana Fan Club

 From the Toy Story trilogy to The Incredibles and Up, Pixar has forever changed filmmaking and given audiences of all ages some of the most beloved characters in cinematic history.


 Now the Hollywood Bowl presents “Pixar in Concert,” with visually stunning clips and memorable scores from each of Pixar's movies (including its latest release, Brave) performed live by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Saturday, August 4th at 8:00 PM at the Hollywood Bowl.

How To Start A Chapter with Disneyana Fan Club - Application Form

There are four simple steps to creating your own local DFC chapter in your community. It’s really easy, so start planning your own Disneyana meetings today as a part of the Disneyana Fan Club. Use this Application Form and follow the steps below:

1. Gather up 5 or more of your favorite local Disneyana fans.
a. (Nominate one as president to coordinate with the national DFC chapter for updated Disneyana news and information for your chapter.)
2. Gather national dues per family of: $29.00 US - $35.00 Canada - $45.00 all other countries
a. Your local chapter can decide if you want to have local dues or not (This would be for local event expenses, etc.)
3. Send one member’s name to the national DFC to be named “Chapter Member of the year”
which will be honored at the national DFC convention in July in California.

That is all you have to do to get started. Just send the information below and your application now to start making Disneyana magic in your local community. Our VP of Chapters will review the application and contact you with more information.

And don’t forget to join the rest of the Disneyana Fan Club fans at our annual DisneyanaMania Convention in Anaheim, California.

How Would You Like To Help Terri Hardin Create A Masterpiece?

For Immediate Release
Imagine for a moment that you had the talent and time to do detailed sculpture of any Disney character. Which one would it be? What would it be doing? Now imagine that a well known artist would be willing to do the sculpting for you. You can stop imagining because Terri Hardin is planning to start a new line of Disney sculptures and she wants your help deciding what to create. She does not want to just redo images that have already been done, you know, the same characters in the same poses. Terri is looking to do characters that haven’t been sculpted before as well as those that have. The key is to have them in poses that have not been done, poses that show the true character, the very essence of what makes that character special.

This is the blue sky phase of the project, so let your imagination soar. What would you buy if it only was available? Why would you prefer it over something that has already been done? These will be extremely limited editions. That allows for some customization. Would you want that option? If so, what would your dream sculpture have that could be customized? The more details you can provide, the better your chance of seeing your idea come life.

Terri already has a few ideas for characters but they need more details if they are going to come to life. She is considering doing the Fairy Godmother, Jiminy Cricket and the Headless Horseman but does not know what pose will give them the WOW factor she is wanting.

Garner Holt Productions Make Generous Donation to Ryman Arts

The Disneyana Fan Club’s visit to Garner Holt Productions, a special ticketed event in conjunction with the DFC’s 2011 Disneyanamania Convention, had an especially Disneyesque happy ending. Mr. Holt graciously offered to reimburse all the visit expenses (exclusive of the transportation costs) in the form of a donation to Ryman Arts, the DFC’s primary West Coast charity.

The approximately 90-minute visit on July 12, 2011 was personally led by Mr. Holt. Afterward, there was a catered luncheon with a specially decorated cake for dessert. Also attending the luncheon were five former Disney Imagineers; they are now employed by Garner Holt and were happy to answer questions.

In an informal ceremony at the DFC’s Show and Sale on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Hotel in Garden Grove, CA, Mr. Holt fulfilled his promise by presenting a check for $1316 to Michelle Lee, Development and Communications Manager at Ryman Arts.

The Show and Sale will be at the Crowne Plaza Resort, 12021 Harbor Blvd.in Garden Grove, CA (about a mile from Disneyland). Admission is $5 for Disneyana Fan Club Members and $6 for the General Public. Club Members can enter the event at 9AM. The General Public can enter the event at 10:30AM. The event lasts until 5PM. We hope to see you there!

Wanted: Marketing Assistant

Would you like to help spread the word about the fun we have at the Disneyana Fan Club? Are you proficient with Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, online Forums)? Do you have experience with marketing to the media, fan groups and/or general public? The V.P. of Media Relations and Publicity is currently seeking a volunteer to assist in spreading the word about our club and all the fun events through the media, local venues, and social media such as websites, chat rooms and forums.
We are looking for the following qualities:

1. Loves Disney
2. Is proficient with using computers
3. Uses Facebook, Twitter or is willing to learn by teaching themselves
4. Has excellent communication skills.

This is an opportunity to help promote the longest-running Disney Fan Club (27 years) in existence. Everyone who is interested is encouraged to apply.

Join Us This Weekend For 2 Major Events This Coming Weekend at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Garden Grove, California

Disneyana Fan Club will hold 2 major events this coming weekend. We are hosting our Pin, Button and Vinylmation Trading Event and our huge All-Disneyana Show and Sale this weekend!

On Saturday, January 14, 2012, we will host our Pin, Button and Vinylmation Trading Event. This will be the first time that we have included trading of the popular Vinylmation figures. Everyone is welcome to this event, and admission is free! Please bring along some pins, buttons and Vinylmation figures to trade or simply to just show off! Meet and make friends with other Disney collectors! There will be games and fun for all! This event will start at 6pm and end at 10pm.

On Sunday, January 15, 2012, is our big All-Disneyana Show and Sale! This event is open to everyone, but Disneyana Fan Club Members will be allowed admission at 9am (an hour and a half before the General Public)! If there is something from Disney- past or present- that you have been looking for, this is one place that you might most likely find it! Club Members will pay $5 per person admission. General Admission will start at 10:30am, and will be $6 per person. People who join Disneyana Fan Club at the Event will be allowed to enter before the General Public if they complete Club Registration before 10:30am. This event will last until 5pm!

The Crowne Plaza Resort is located at 12021 Harbor Blvd., in Garden Grove, CA 92840. We hope that you can make it to one or both events!
